With more than ten years of experience in fast-paced street style and fashion photography, Rachel Yabsley is one of Australia’s most exciting creative talents. At 23 she picked up her first camera as a hobby and since then she hasn’t looked back. Her background in visual merchandising, as well as her studies in photography at CATC Design School, give her a creative and technical edge that elevates her images. Since launching one of Sydney’s first street style blogs in 2009, Rachel has gone on to become an in demand and sought after photographer, shooting for clients including Vogue Australia, Gritty Pretty, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, David Jones, Dior, Louis Vuitton, GQ Australia, Sheike, and brand imagery for Slip Silk Pillowcases showcased across Sephora USA stores. Rachel has also worked closely with influencers including Elle Ferguson, Eleanor Pendleton and Jess Leahy. Over the years, she has travelled to Paris for fashion week, made it through countless racing seasons, photographed Vogue Australia’s extravagant 60th birthday celebrations and became one of the first people in Australia to shoot the Internet breaking Fendi x SKIMS collection on Elle Ferguson.
Her style is vibrant, dynamic and clever, prioritising natural light and the beauty of our Australian landscape as a backdrop. The more fast-paced the job, the better: with years of experience shooting at big events such as Australian fashion week, Rachel always gets the shot without sacrificing her relaxed and open energy. It’s why many clients tell her that they are more comfortable in front of her camera than with any other photographer that they have worked with.
